Biography

Lynnwood Gene Schultz was born on April 18, 1930 in Temple, Texas and was called to heaven by Our Lord on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, in Hewitt, Tx. He grew up in Bartlett, Texas, where he was baptized into the family of God at St. John’s Lutheran Church on May 25, 1930 where he also received the Rite of Confirmation on July 23, 1944. He served in the Air Force and later married Barbara Ann Otis on December 29, 1956.

Lynn worked by day and went to college at night where he eventually became the payroll manager for United Gas of Houston in Houston, Tx. After retirement in
August of 1986 he and his family moved to Brenham, Tx, where he became an active member of First United Methodist Church and was involved in the Men’s Group and other activities. He was known as an avid fisherman as well as an accomplished woodworker.

Lynn is preceded in death by his twin brother, Glen, and survived by his wife, Barbara, daughter Debbie Jones of Hewitt, sons Russell of Austin and Alan of Ft. Worth. He also leaves behind a sister, LaVerne Hannan of San Gabriel, CA, two grandsons, Kyle Jones, Scott Schultz and two granddaughters, Kristen Jones and Jillian Schultz.

Memorial service to be held Friday November 20, 2009 at 2:00pm, Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Drive, Waco Tx 76712. All memorials to be donated to Central United Methodist Church of Waco or to the charity of your choice.
