Biography

Elva J. Burch of Waco/Speegleville passed away Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010 at Providence Hospital after a long battle with complications from cancer. Services will be held Friday, Feb. 19 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. and a memorial service will begin at 7 p.m.
Elva was born on January 12, 1948 to Ruth and Con Del Kilpatrick. She attended school in Waco and graduated from University High in 1966. Elva was employed by Southwestern Bell for 30 years before retiring in 2000.
Elva loved family gatherings, shooting pool and long walks on the beach, as well as fishing in Port Aransas, TX. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Elva was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband Jim Burch; son Michael Ray Young and wife Jahna; daughter Becki Voss and husband Kenny; daughter Kellie Ferguson and husband Larry; daughter Rebecca Hahn and husband James; sisters Sue Pruitt and Gilda Lancaster and husband Chuck; brother Robert Rochelle and wife Libby; 12 grandchildren Brent, Kyle, and Chase Voss, Ashlee, Kayla and Taylor Ferguson, Braden, Logan, Tyler and Zachary Young, and Hailey and Josh Wetzel; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Providence Hospice.
