Biography

John N. Hilbun age 97, of Waco, Texas passed away February 17, 2010 at a local care facility. Family visitation will be Friday, Feb. 19, from 5-7 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 20, at 1 p.m., at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.
John retired from The Southland Corporation Oak Farms Division in 1970 after 27 years of working in Dallas, Waco, Beaumont and Houston. After retirement he split his time between Waco and his beloved beach house in Crystal Beach, on Bolivar Peninsula where he enjoyed gardening and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elodie; and his third wife, Barbara.
He is survived by his four daughters and their families: Diane Lee Roper and husband, Bob of Lake Kiowa, Texas, Lana Lucas and husband, Luke of Wildwood, Texas, Judy Mason and husband, Randy of Houston, Texas, and Vicki Holroyd and husband, David of Houston, Texas; stepson Mark Kirk, of Waco, Texas; grandchildren Donald Dickerson, Stacy Howell, Tracy Webster, Vicki King, Jeff Mason, Michael LeMaire, Jr., Andy Mason, and Trey Holroyd; step grandson, Anthony Kirk; eight great grandchildren; and sister LaVerne Billingley of Garland, Texas.
