John Bartrug

John Bartrug passed away early Monday evening, August 12, 2019, at the age of 68.  Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Friday August 16, 2019, in the parlor of Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Dr.  A graveside services and interment will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday August 17, 2019, at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating.

Mr. Bartrug was born October 3, 1950, in Victoria, Texas, the son of the late James Oliver and Jonell (Edwards) Bartrug.  At an early age, the family moved to Waco.

For over twenty years, John enjoyed being employed by M&M Mars as an assembly line employee.   Throughout his life, John enjoyed farming and ranching.  Watching the deer feed and tending to his black angus cows, brought him great pleasure.  He also enjoyed horseback riding and attending the HOT Rodeo.

Survivors include a daughter, Lena Bartrug; a brother, James Bartrug and wife Lori; two nieces, Kelsey Metzger and husband Matt, Shelby Bartrug and honorary brother, Freddy Winkler
