Adelaida DeJesus Martinez Lopez, lovingly known by her family and friends as “Tiny,” passed away at Medical City in Dallas, Texas. Born in Bejucos, Mexico, Tiny lived a life filled with love, family, and a heart that found happiness in caring for others.

Tiny was someone who knew how to find joy in the little things. She loved to read, watch television and movies, keep up with the news, and play games on her phone. She enjoyed cooking, looking through restaurant menus, and discovering places she might like to try. She also had a special soft spot for her beloved dog, Molly, whom she loved to spoil. But above all the things she enjoyed, her family was always at the center of her heart.

As a single mother, Tiny worked hard to raise her three beautiful daughters. She spent her life serving others and doing what she could to make the people around her happy. She gave her daughters not only her time and strength, but a mother's unconditional love—the kind of love that stays with you long after she is gone. Raising Bianca, Celina, and Emily was one of the greatest accomplishments of her life.

On May 14, 2019, Tiny married Daniel Canaris, and together they shared another special chapter of her life.

Tiny was also a proud grandmother. Her grandchildren brought another kind of joy into her life, and she cherished the love and memories created with each of them. Her family was her greatest legacy, and the love she poured into them will continue from one generation to the next.

Tiny was preceded in death by her beloved mother. There is comfort in knowing that Tiny is now reunited with her mother, Hermelinda.

Tiny leaves behind those who will carry her memory and love forward: her three daughters, Bianca Seaton, Celina Smith, and Emily Smith; her grandchildren, Liliana Rechenthin, Liam Rechenthin, Luca Rechenthin, Leon Rechenthin, and Gabrielle Remington; her sisters, Juanita Hernandez, Irene Lopez, and Rubi Ruiz; and her brother, Raudel Ruiz.

She will be missed in the everyday moments, the meals she would have cooked, the shows she would have watched, and the little ways she made life special for those around her. Although Tiny's physical presence is no longer with her family, the love she gave them did not leave with her.

A visitation will be held Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.
