On Friday, February 27, 2026, angels escorted Adrienne to her eternal home. Adrienne Charisse Kelley Barry entered the world on April 21, 1963, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and from the very beginning, she carried with her a light that would touch countless lives. The daughter of Retired Air Force Colonel C.J. Kelley and Cleotha Kelley, Adrienne grew up with a spirit shaped by service, adventure, and deep family roots.
A proud graduate of Limestone High School in Maine, Adrienne was a natural athlete—fearless on the field hockey turf, dynamic on the basketball court, and unstoppable on the track. Her love of sports was not just a pastime but a lifelong passion that connected her to others and fueled her competitive, joyful spirit.
Adrienne earned her degree in Business Marketing and Fashion Merchandising from Texas Tech University in 1985, beginning a lifelong devotion to her beloved Red Raiders. HIT ‘EM WRECK ‘UM, TEXAS TECH!! In 1987, she married and soon became a mother to three sons who would become the center of her world: Andrew, Christian, and Matthew.
Her journey took her from San Francisco to Waco, where she built a life defined by compassion and service. Adrienne worked as an Instrumental Intervention Instructor before becoming the Principal’s Secretary at South Bosque Elementary School. Her presence helped shape the school’s culture, contributing to its rise in state rankings and becoming a trusted, steady force for students, staff, and families.
Adrienne’s greatest gift was the way she loved. She raised her boys with unwavering devotion, modeling strength, kindness, and joy. She was admired for the way she mothered—fully, fiercely, and with a heart that never ran out of room.
She loved to bake, to shop, to watch movies, and most of all, to laugh. Her laugh—full, bright, and contagious—was a gift to everyone who heard it. Her smile could warm a room before she even spoke.
Adrienne leaves behind her sons Andrew (Houston), Christian and fiancée Kya (Dallas), and Matthew (Waco); her mother, Cleotha (Woodway); her brothers Chris and wife Kelly(Rockwall), Jason and wife Teo(Los Angeles); Nieces and Nephew Becca & Breanna (Rockwall), and Zion (Los Angeles); and her granddaughter, Aliyah (Waco) and extended family. She also leaves behind a community forever changed by her presence.
The Barry and Kelley families extend heartfelt thanks to Grace Gardens Funeral Home for their compassion and care and to Temple Baylor Scott & White Hospital Medical ICU staff for the wonderful care they provided.
Adrienne’s physical presence may be gone, but her love remains—alive in memory, alive in laughter, alive in every life she touched.
Donations in her honor may be made to the American Cancer Society (American Cancer Society).
