Alfred “Moose” Gonzales Sr., age 94, of Waco, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, on June 24, 2026.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Amelia “Mimi” Gonzales; his children, Alfred Gonzales Jr., LeeAnn Montoya, Russell Gonzales, Jesse Montoya, and Stacy Gonzales; his loving grandchildren, Amber Gonzales Mercader, Ashley Gonzales, Cody Montoya, Shane Montoya, Denise Whitsel, Kelsey Neyra, Megan Gonzales, Joshua Stevenson, Katelyn Schofield, Serenity Fredette, Sky Fredette, and Christopher Gonzales; and his great-grandchildren, Isaiah Stevenson, Victor Neyra, Manu Neyra, Davi Neyra, April O’Neal Gonzales, Bonita Beans Mercader, Devin Montoya, Maritza Montoya, Jada Hall, Ryan Montoya, Kynadie Montoya, Byntile Montoya and Coleson Stevenson.
He is also survived by his grandson-in-law, Rene Whitsel, and his granddaughters-in-law, Jennifer Montoya and Malorie Montoya.
Alfred will be greeted in the afterlife by his beloved parents, Henry and Crescencia Gonzales; his dear brothers, Henry Jr. and Baby Richard; his cherished sisters, Beatrice, Carol, Irene, Geneva, and Mary Louise; his daughter, Olga Ann; his sons, Rodney and Richard; and his sweet great-grandbaby, Lucky Whitsel. May they all rest in peace.
Alfred was born on March 29, 1932, at home in Waco, Texas. He attended Waco High School before entering the military, where he was stationed in Alaska during the Korean War. After his service, he returned home to build a life and raise his family in Waco.
Moose had a deep love for family and friends. He embraced life with a passion for golf, baseball, fishing, cooking, and dancing with his wife—always the life of the party!
Please join his family in celebrating Moose’s life on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
