Alice Ruth Beatty, 90, of Crawford, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Visitation will be Monday, June 24, 2024 at 9:00 AM with the service following at 10:00 AM at Grace Gardens Funeral Home with Grant Kaul officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Ruth was born August 7, 1933, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania to George and Charlotte (Carson) Crawford. She grew up and attended school in and around the Philadelphia area.

Ruth married Philip Harold Beatty in 1959. The Beatty family grew and moved to Texas in 1964. Ruth did a variety of secretarial jobs over the years. In Longview, she worked part-time at LeTourneau College in the PE and Aviation Departments. While living in Shoreview, Minnesota, she worked at ConWed Plastics. When they retired to the Waco area, she worked part-time in the office of Fellowship Bible Church. Throughout the years her purpose and joy came from loving and serving God and her family.

Ruth used the gifts that God gave her of hospitality and service to minister to her family, friends, church, and strangers. She would invite LeTourneau College students and others over for lunch after church on Sundays. On several Thanksgivings, the ping pong table was used as an additional table for many students who could not make it home for the holidays. Ruth often hosted traveling missionaries and various church groups in her home. She taught Sunday School and worked in the church nursery regularly throughout her life. Her warmth, kindness, and faithfulness were perfectly suited to these ministries.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Phil, her parents; sister, Maureen Pruitt; and sons John William Beatty and Paul Edward Beatty. She is survived by her son Robert Beatty and wife Kaye, daughter Barbara Gurka and husband James; daughters-in-law Carol Beatty(Paul), and Suzanne Beatty(John). Also, grandchildren, Kyle, Daniel, Scott, Christopher, Jonmark, and Matthew and wife, Emma, Beatty; Elizabeth Estes and husband, Jesse and great grandchildren Eliana, Emmitt, and Edwin Estes.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Baylor Scott and White Hospice and Wesley Woods Care Center for their care for Ruth during her last month.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mission Fund at Fellowship Bible Church of Waco.
