Betsy Lynn Pace

Beloved Betsy Lynn Silva Pace, 46 years old, peacefully passed away on June 3rd, 2024, surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with a prolonged illness. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home Chapel at 8220 Woodway Dr., Waco TX 78612, with Pastor Michael Visy of Grace Church, Hewitt, Texas officiating.

Betsy was born October 14, 1977, in Far Rockaway, New York to her surviving parents, David Silva Sr., and Teresa Vega. She is also survived by her loving husband of 8.5 years, Jeffrey Pace, as well as her sister Emily Silva, and brother David Silva, Jr. Additionally, her nieces Sophia, Penny and nephew Hudson. Betsy will always have a connection with her surviving soul sister, Jennifer Medina and godsons, Michaelos Tyson and Tryce Tyson.

Growing up in Far Rockaway she loved going to the beach with friends and family and playing in the snow with her dad. She had a love for Bugs Bunny cartoons, Cabbage Patch dolls, coloring books, breakfasts, and staying home from school with her mom on bad weather days.

Later her family moved to San Diego, California where she finished grade school, Lemon Grove middle school, and Mount Miguel High School. In high school she took 4 years of French and became quite fluent in the language. After graduation her father took her on a trip to Paris, France - something she would always reminisce about.

Soon after graduation, her family moved to Orlando, Florida where she completed Cosmetology School in 1996. She worked as a hairdresser and in different office jobs during her time there.

In 2004, following a devastating hurricane season in Florida, Betsy decided to move to Waco, Texas for a new start and a new career. She began at the McLennan County Appraisal District in 2005, which lasted 19 years. Betsy began as a customer service representative then moved into the records department as a clerk and later as a trainer. Her last position was as GIS/Mapper. Her knowledge and work ethics were extensive and well appreciated making her invaluable to McCAD and local entities.

As part of her new start, she met her eventual husband, Jeffrey Pace, in December 2011. An endearing friendship turned to marriage on November 10th, 2015. Over their years together they enjoyed many cruises, daytrips, friends, and Christian fellowships. They care for their dogs "children" and enjoyed quiet, humorous evenings together.

Betsy was loved by all that knew her best. She enjoyed sharing her great cooking, crocheting, fellowship, and her true views of all that she shared freely. Betsy's greatest hope was in her loving, saving and redeeming God. She always looked forward to the day she would be in his presence.
