Betty (Dawson) York

Betty Louise York passed away Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024. A graveside service will be at 10:30am, Saturday, January 6, 2023 at Waco Memorial Park.

Betty Louise York was born December 14th, 1938, in Donna, Texas to George and Geniva Dawson. Betty married the love of her life Edwin York on December 25, 1955, in Waco, Texas. Together they raised 5 children. Daughter Gina and 4 sons M. Edwin jr., Mark D., Michael J., and Matthew A. York. Betty and Edwin were married 56 years before his passing in 2012. Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her children and was also a very active member at Parkview Baptist Church and Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, George and Geniva Dawson, husband, M. Edwin York, daughter, Gina York Meier and brother, George William Dawson Jr.

Betty is survived by her 4 sons, M. Edwin York, Jr., Mark D. York, Michael J. York, and his wife, Sunny, and Matthew A. York, and his wife Pamela Lankford York, all of Waco. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Coleman Pope, Amy Coleman, Jason Coleman, Eddie York III, Susan and Laura York, Paige York Jorgenson, Jill York, Alyssa York, Brady, Blake, and Adam York, and 10 great-grandchildren.
