Carol Ann Kizer, born September 26, 1952, in Waco, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home in Lorena, Texas, on June 11, 2025, after a short battle with cancer.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who deeply valued her family. Carol loved the Lord and found great joy in being a member of Harris Creek Baptist Church in McGregor, Texas.
Carol was a proud graduate of Midway High School. In her younger years, she loved playing softball and had a competitive spirit paired with a joyful heart. Throughout her adult life, she formed deep and lasting friendships that she treasured so much. She was known for her joyful spirit and her ability to brighten the lives of those around her. Her passion for cooking and baking was well known, and if you had the privilege of enjoying one of her meals, you knew it was made with love. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family, who were the center of her life.
Carol is survived by her sons, Gerald Taylor and Patrick Moore, and Patrick’s wife, Bridgett. She also leaves behind her grandsons—Cooper, Grant, and Jacob Taylor—who will carry her memory with them always. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who will remember her with love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna Spitzer; her brothers, Richard and Don Spitzer; and her husband, Jimmy Kizer. She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
