Charles Michael Robins

Charles Michael Robins, born January 27th, 1948, went to be with the lord on Friday, March 8th, 2024, at the age of 76. A visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, March 21st, 2024, from 6-8pm at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Mike is the son of Mervin and Emogene Robins - Alaminski of Waco. He married Judith Eileen Sherrill on December 21st, 1968, in Waco. They were married for 54 years. They resided in Hewitt their entire married life.

Growing up, Mike was very competitive in multiple sports. He played football, baseball, basketball and ran track. He was an outstanding athlete at University High School, setting several school athletic records in track. Mike won two state championships in high school for high hurdles and low hurdles for University High School. He graduated high school in 1966 and signed a scholarship to play football and run track for Baylor University. He was also drafted out of high school to play baseball for the Minnesota Twins. In his adulthood, Mike took up competitive bass fishing, bowling, dirt track race car owner and golf. After retirement, Mike slowed down and took up the sport of golf for fun.

Mike is preceded in death by his wife, Judith Eileen Robins, his parents Mervin, and Emogene Robins – Alaminski, his brother Mervin E. Robins and sister-in-law Janelle Robins.

Mike is survived by a son, Jeff Robins of North Richland Hills, daughter Amanda Laxson and husband Charles of Temple, grandson’s Hobey and Cole Laxson of Temple. He has multiple nieces and nephews, as well as a great nieces and nephews.

Mike was a wealth of knowledge, gained throughout life experiences and he enjoyed passing on those traits. We will always carry his memory in our hearts.
