Charles (Chuck) Olinick, 93, of Woodway, Texas, passed away in his sleep at St. Catherine Center in Waco, Texas on August 14, 2025.
Born and raised in Revloc, Pennsylvania, Chuck enlisted in the US Air Force and served in the Korean War. Afterward, he worked on US / NATO missile systems in Germany.
Upon returning to the US, he earned a degree from Florida State University where he met his wife, Janice (Jan) Olinick.
In the 1960's, Chuck worked at the Johnson Space Center in Houston where he was part of the team supporting the Apollo Space Missions.
When the Apollo program ended, Chuck and Jan moved to San Antonio where he earned a Master's Degree in Hospital Administration from Trinity University. For the next forty years, he worked at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in VA Hospitals across the country, spending the final years of his career at the Doris Miller VA Medical Center in Waco.
Chuck and his wife, Jan, were founding members of Brazos Meadows Baptist Church where they were involved in many activities serving the members and community.
Chuck is survived by his son, Joe; sister-in-law, Rose Marie McClung; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In his final years, Chuck cherished the daily visits of the volunteers from Waco Meals on Wheels and would appreciate any memorial donations be made to them.
