Clifford Gibson Swift III

September 12, 1939 — June 5, 2024

Waco, Texas

Clifford Gibson Swift III, 84, of Waco, Texas passed away on June 5, 2024 from complications from pancreatic cancer. He died at home surrounded by loved ones.

Cliff was born September 12, 1939 to Dr. and Mrs. Clifford Gibson Swift, Jr in Cameron, Texas. He was the eldest of 3 children. He graduated from Texas State University with a degree in Chemistry. Most of his life’s work was in sales.

Cliff dearly cherished his family, read avidly, and loved music. He began playing the guitar when he was 14 and was briefly a session musician for The Royal Jesters out of San Antonio. One of his favorite things was to sit you down in a comfortable spot and play songs from a treasured artist. You were thrilled to be there because to be with Cliff was to be in great company. Always ready with a joke or a turn of a phrase, full of fantastic euphemisms and words of wisdom, Cliff made friends wherever he went. He will be sorely missed.

Cliff is preceded in death by his parents Dr. and Mrs. Clifford Swift Jr; his sister and brother- in-law Ann and John Duncan; and sister Laura Hays.

Cliff is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Swift; his children, Paige Swift, Ford Swift and wife Nicole; stepchildren Tabitha Nodine and husband Mike; and Michael Stahl and wife Kayla. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Grace Swift, Gibson Swift, Kaylee Nodine, Madison Nodine, Jacob Stahl, Sadie Stahl, Hudson Stahl.
