David Patrick Haggerty passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 7, 2026. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, on September 24, 1962, Dave was shaped by his service in the United States Army and by the many challenges he faced throughout life.

A proud veteran of the 6th Infantry, Dave earned several awards for marksmanship during his military career. He was also awarded the NATO Medal for his contributions in Bosnia, where he was entrusted not only with ensuring proper nutrition for his unit, but also relied upon for his mechanical expertise. His sharp marksmanship skills further contributed to the safety and protection of those serving alongside him.

Dave was fiercely protective of those he cared about. His passion for trying new things, traveling, and experiencing all life had to offer made every moment with him memorable. His legacy of humor, perseverance, and lifelong learning will be carried forward by all who knew him. His remarkable life stands as a testament to the power of an indomitable spirit marked by curiosity and resilience.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kayla Haggerty and Laura Richard; his six grandchildren, Zoe, Dorian, Aiden, Amelia, Charlotte, and Nolan; along with many beloved friends and family members. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to a local Veterans Post or honoring Dave’s memory by seeking out new travel opportunities and embracing the adventure of seeing the world.
