Dian stepped into her Lord’s presence on December 7, 2025, at 10:45pm, at Ascension Providence Hospice.

Her “Celebration of Life” service will be at Grace Gardens in Woodway, TX, on December 13 at 3:30pm, followed by a time of fellowship concluding the service.

She was born Diana Bernice Davis on October 23, 1942, in Abilene, TX.

She initially lived on her grandparents’ farm in Funston, TX, with her mother and grandparents, while her father was a tank commander in Germany during World War II. After her father returned home from the war, they moved to Amarillo, TX, where she attended elementary school. As her father received a call from God to enter the ministry, the family moved to Brownwood, TX, in 1951, where her mother & father attended Howard Payne University and she attended school through her junior high years. After her parents graduated, the family moved to Cisco, TX, for her ninth & tenth grade years, where she was cheerleader and played varsity basketball. For her junior and senior years, the family moved to Seagraves, TX, where she played volleyball, was a cheerleader, and met the love of her life, Don Taylor.

Don and Dian were married August 11, 1961, in Seagraves. In 1962 they moved to Canyon, TX, where they both attended West Texas State University and where Dian became a secretary at First Baptist Church of Canyon. Upon Don’s graduation in 1965, they moved to Hereford, TX, where Dian served as secretary for the First Baptist Church, and their first son, Doak, was born.

In 1967, they moved to Belton, TX, where Dian was a teacher’s assistant at the elementary school. In 1969, they moved to Woodway, TX, where they both worked in the Midway ISD and lived there her remaining years. Dian served at Midway as an elementary secretary for almost 30 years at Woodway, Hewitt & Spring Valley. During this time, Doug was born in 1970 and Davis in 1973.

Dian retired from Midway in 2004. During all of her time in Woodway, she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Woodway, and she enjoyed being a “Nana” to 13 grandchildren. In 2005, she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, yet she did not let it keep her from living life. During all those years, she courageously fought it until her death in 2025.

One of the things she treasured most was being married to Don for 64 years.

She is preceded in death by her father BL Davis & her mother Ellen Davis. She is survived by her husband Don Taylor, her brother Mike Davis, her son Doak & his wife Pam, children Peyton, Holden, Dillon, Haven & Canyon; her son Doug & his wife Kathryn, children Kylie, Karis, Caleb & Keira; her son Davis & his children Kristlyn, Bryce, Mia and Kendall.

The family would like to say thank you to the many friends who loved on her during her life, but especially during these last three years.
