Donald Linn

Donald Victor Linn age 94, of Waco passed away on Friday October 5, 2012 at St. Catherine Center. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Christus Chapel at Providence Park with Father Cyril Ejadidu officiating.

Donald Victor Linn was born on September 22, 1918 in Concordia, Kansas to Selma and David Linn. Raised in rural Kansas, Donald attended Kansas University and graduated from UCLA in 1941. He married his Kansas sweetheart, Rita M. Desilet after graduation. He served in the US Army during WWII and then went to work for International Harvester in California where he raised his family. After 40 years he retired in Dallas. Following the death of his beloved wife Rita he married Gretchen D. Shaffer of Dallas. They moved to Waco in 2003. He is best known for his gentle kindness and endearing sense of humor. He was a man of great integrity and deep faith.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wives, his parents and three siblings.

He is survived by his son David W. Linn and wife Carmen of Bluffton, South Carolina; daughter Beverley Keahey and husband Kent of Waco; two step-sons David Shaffer of Dallas and Michael Shaffer and wife Mary Anne of Houston; seven Grandchildren; two step-Grandchildren; eight Great Grandchildren.
He will be missed and lovingly remembered always.

The family wishes to thank the exceptional physicians and staff of Providence Health Center, Providence Park and Providence Hospice for their tender loving care.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Providence Foundation.
