Donald E. Rains, 90 of Waco, Texas, went to be with the Lord, on April 4, 2024, at his home, with his loving wife, of nearly 59 years by his bedside.
Interment will be on May 3, 2024, 11:30am, in the Garden of The Good Shepherd, Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery, 5750 Hwy. 277, South, Abilene, Texas 79606.
Memorial Service will be May 4, 2024, at First Woodway & Start Baptist Church, 101 N. Richie Road, Waco, Texas 76712, with visitation beginning at 10:30am, service at 11:00am, with Pastor Roy Marshall, officiating.
Don was born March 22, 1934, grew up in Miami, Florida, he graduated from Miami High School, then obtained a BBA from University of Miami and his MBA from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.
Don retired from Dyess Air Force Base, Abilene, Texas, in 1975 after serving 20 years in the Air Force with three tours in Vietnam and Thailand as the Wing Intelligence Officer. He loved God and his country - a true Patriot!
Don is survived by his wife Linda and nearly 59 years; sons Robert R. Rains, wife Suzanne of Cocoa, Florida and Scott A. Rains and wife Renee of Marietta, Georgia, one brother Dan J. Rains of Spring Hill, Florida,
10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Accent Care Hospice, staff of Grace Gardens,
all neighbors, friends, Pastor Roy Marshall and First Woodway Baptist Church for their love and support.
In lieu of floral arrangements, memorials may be directed to: First Woodway Baptist Church - Food Pantry, 101 N. Richie Road, Waco, Texas 76712.
