Dorthy Evylin Blackwell died on 25 May 2026 at the age of 87 at St Anthony’s Care Center in Waco Texas. She was born in Hugo, Oklahoma and spent her adult life in the Waco area.
She is survived by her son, Steven Whisenant, wife Katy, and daughter Donna Marucci and husband Dean and their families including 11 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by six of her 10 siblings along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorthy established and operated Dot’s Coiffures for 50 years and was an active member of the Greater Waco Baptist Church community where she leaves many friends. The family is cared for by Grace Gardens Funeral Home.
