Douglas Howard Fussell, born on November 4, 1952, in Dickson, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, in Waco, Texas. Surrounded by the loving presence of his niece, Debra Chappell Camire, and great niece, Brandi Mathews, Doug departed this life with a serene grace that reflected a lifetime of kindness and unwavering faith.
Doug lived out his years devoted to his family, especially cherishing the time spent with his nieces. A devout Christian, his faith was a guiding light throughout all aspects of his life. His gentle spirit and innocent soul marked him as one of the sweetest individuals to have graced his community. Known for his love of dogs and a warm, caring nature, Doug left an indelible impact on all who had the privilege to know him.
He is lovingly remembered by his niece, Debra Chappell Camire; great niece, Brandi Mathews; and great great nieces, Aaliyah Mathews and Rebecca Turnbull, who carry forward his memory with deep affection. Doug was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Granville and Evelyn Fussell; his sister, Evelyn Chappell, and her husband Robert; and his niece, Robin Chappell. Their memories remain a cherished part of his life's story.
