Edward Rodriquez Beltran

October 13, 1942 — March 27, 2024

Edward R Beltran, 81 of Lorena, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.  His wife and children were by his side. A Graveside Service will be 11 am, Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Waco Memorial Park Cemetery.  A Vistiation with the family will be 5-6 pm, Monday, April 1 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home with a Rosary following at 6pm.

He was born in Waco, Texas on October 13, 1942, to Noe and Cassimira Beltran.

Edward grew up in Marlin, Texas and graduated from Marlin High School. He served six years in the United States National Guard thereafter moved to San Antonio to pursue an education as an automative mechanic. His keen sense of knowledge and  love of cars served him well as he worked at several car dealerships in the Dallas and Waco area before he began his 25-year career with the United States Postal Service as an auto mechanic. He retired from there in 2010. Edward served several years as a Union Steward and Union leadership.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus.

Edward married Gloria Liendo in 1970, they were married for 54 years.  Gloria was his love and constant caregiver until the very end.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Noe and Cassimira Beltran; brother, Jesse Beltran; sister, Stella Self; and son-in-law, Michael C Bacerra.

These things brought much joy and happiness to Edward, family gatherings at his home, old cars, baseball, Reality TV, like Cash Cab, Survivor and Wheel of Fortune and Vanna White.   Later in his life he and his wife would enjoy watching Reality TV together.  But most of all Edward’s joy came from good times spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was most certainly a family man. A good friend, a helping mechanic to anyone in need, but most importantly Edward was a righteous and Godly man, a devout Catholic and true believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

All his children and grandchildren gave him much pride, each one shone in his eyes in their own unique way. His namesake, Edward Beltran Jr, a San Antonio Police Officer, his grandson, Christopher Glenn, a Houston Police Officer, Grandson, Eric J. Bacerra, a United States Marine, son, Dennis, his love for the land and working with his hands made him a constant helper of Edward’s.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Beltran of Lorena; children, Debbie Lopez and husband, Vincent and Dennis Beltran, all from Waco. Erica B. Salinas and husband, Kris of Lorena, Edward (Eddie) Beltran Jr. of San Antonio; grandchildren, Christopher Glenn, Lauren Smith, Lindsey Muncy and husband, Bryan; Lacey Smith, Martin E. Bacerra and wife, Brianna; Eric Bacerra, Reyna Danielle Bacerra, Marissa Beltran, Dennis Beltran, Macy Beltran and Jude Beltran. great-grandchildren, Lexi, Loki, Julian, and Issa.  His little dog and constant companion, Ani. Worth, David Beltran and wife, Sara of Marlin, Robert Beltran and wife, Frances of Riesel, Sam Beltran of San Antonio; Mary Gomez of Ft.
