Eugene Eldon Penton

Eugene Eldon Penton was born on January 1, 1939, and died peacefully Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the age of 86. Gene was born and raised in South Bosque on his Family's Farm; He married Ruth Schraeder on Oct 31, 1959. Two children were born from this union, Traci and Kelli.

Gene attended South Bosque and Midway schools. Gene grew up Farming but had a mechanical mind, which led him to a career as a diesel mechanic: Gene worked for Darr Equipment Company for 12 years and then he became self-employed, contracting for companies around central and east Texas.

After retiring he spent his time Fixing equipment, clearing land or building Fence for son-in-law Robert, helping his daughter Traci around her place, shredding and maintaining the Robinson Saddle Club Arena, and of course watching his grandchildren, Jessi and Jody grow.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents, F.H. and Alma Penton, his siblings Mary Odell, Lee Penton, and Charles Penton.

Gene is survived by his wife, Ruth Penton of 65 years daughter Traci Penton of Azle, Texas, Kelli Cope and husband Robert of Mason, Texas, two grandchildren, Jessi Cope and husband Nolan Diana of Madison, Wisconsin, and Jody Cope currently of Reno, Nevada; and numerous extended family members.

Visitation will be 6-8pm, Tuesday, June 24th, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be 10:30am, Wednesday, June 25th at Waco Memorial Park.
