Frances U. Finley, 60, departed her worldly home of Waco, TX on July 1st, 2023, surrounded by family, and comforted by her heavenly father.
Frances was a devoted follower of her faith and found solace and strength in her relationship with God. She was an active member of Faith Walk Church, where her faith blossomed and her devotion to her Creator shone brightly. Frances’ love for God was evident in every aspect of her life, and she lived each day with the purpose of spreading His love and grace to all those she encountered.
Frances devoted 12 years of service to Comet Cleaners, and another 12 years to Waco Charter Schools and 12 years to United Way Kids & Co. until she ultimately retired in 2016. She spent her final years feeding and mistering to the homeless population through her own ministry “Merge Ministry” and the Hope House.
Frances’ legacy will live on in the hearts of her loved ones. She is survived by her devoted Husband of 38 years, Charles R. Finley, children Jermaine Edwards Sr (Beth), Cody Finley (Daisy), Jamie Lee Lopez (Ricky), her grandchildren, Jermaine Edwards Jr, Ayden & Aurora Finley, & Ricky Lopez Jr. Her Sister Estella (Gilbert) Sais, Brothers, Gilbert (Rose) Rodriguez, & Rudy (Lorraine) Rodriguez. Frances’ love extended beyond her immediate family, as she formed deep connections with countless friends and members of her religious community. On her first day of eternal glory, she was united with her parents Paul & Faye Rodriguez, sister Lupe Esquivel.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Frances were touched by her gentle spirit and compassionate heart. She had a remarkable ability to empathize with others and offer comfort in times of need. Her words were filled with wisdom, and her actions were guided by love. Frances was a pillar of strength for her family, through her long and courageous battle with cancer.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, where we will come together to celebrate Frances’ life and offer our prayers and support to her grieving family. Services will be officiated by Pastor Rudy Rodriguez beginning at 6pm, and family will begin receiving visitors starting at 5pm.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, let us find solace in the promise of eternal life. Frances’ memory will forever be cherished, and her legacy of love and faith will inspire us all. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
