Franklin Lee Campbell

March 20, 1946 — September 18, 2023

Gatesville, Texas

Franklin Lee Campbell, 77, of Gatesville, passed away on September 18 at his home surrounded by his family and friends, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service and visitation will be held on Saturday, September 23, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Grace Gardens Funeral Home's chapel. His burial will be at a later date in Gatesville.

Frank, lovingly known as "Doodle," was born March 20, 1946 in McGregor. He went to school in Waco and after finishing school he joined the Navy. He was a radio officer, received a National Defense Service medal, and a Vietnam Service medal. After serving his country, he met and married Elenore. They were married only a short while when she was diagnosed and soon died from cancer. Years later he met Betty and was happily married until she died with problems related to diabetes. Again, God blessed him one last time with a chance for happiness when he met Celeste, but little did they know that happiness would be short-lived. She got cancer and died soon after. Frank was a caring and loving man and stood by each of them to the end of their lives.

Frank worked for 3M Manufacturing in Langhorn, PA until his retirement. Then he moved to Gatesville in 2002 to be close to his family. He loved to play golf, go fishing, and visit family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wives Elenore and Betty, and friend Celeste; mother Lorene Barker, stepdad Emmit Barker; father Franklin Campbell; brothers Sonny and Bruce Campbell; two neices Sherry Bailey adn Kimberly Castor.

Surviving immediate family include: Anna Bailey and Leslie Campbell; a host of loving neices and nephews; stepdaughter Sandy and family.

Many thanks to the hospice nurses for their loving care for Frank.
