Gary Dale Taylor of Sinton, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his beloved children and grandchildren on February 18, 2026, at the age of 70 in Waco, Texas. He was a cherished father, a grandfather to 11 grandchildren, and friend to many throughout his life.

Gary was born in Bonham, Texas, on February 4, 1956. As a child, he loved spending time with his grandparents, and often shared stories about the lessons he learned from his Papaw Coonrod. He adored his little brother, Danny and treasured their conversations. He attended Crockett High School in Austin, Texas where he found a passion for football and found mentors in his coaches and lifelong brotherhood in his teammates.

Gary was larger than life in the quiet, everyday ways that matter most. He never met a stranger. He could strike up a conversation anywhere and somehow walk away with a new friend. His charisma wasn’t for show—it came from a genuinely generous heart. If someone needed help, advice, encouragement, or simply someone to listen, Gary was there.

He had a deep love for his antique store, where he truly came alive. He loved to wheel and deal- always hunting for the next treasure and always convinced he “got a pretty good deal.” But it was never just about the deal. It was about the story behind the piece, the handshake, the conversation, and the connection. His store reflected who he was: full of character, warmth, and history.

His proudest role was Dad. He was a father who would stop at nothing to provide for his family. His love was steady, protective, and sacrificial. His children knew they were safe in his strength and supported in every season of life.

And then there was “Grampy.” As a grandfather, he was simply the best. He never missed an event- ballgames, school programs, Grandparents days, and milestones- he showed up. Whether he was playing basketball with his grandson or cheering loudly from the stands, his greatest joy was being present. He didn’t just love his grandchildren- he delighted in them.

Gary was a fighter until the very end. Even in his hardest days, his determination never wavered. He faced life the way he faced everything-with grit, resilience, and heart. Gary is survived by his daughter Andi Goldston, husband, Justin, and their children Ford and Rand; daughter Randi Viloria, husband Vic, and their children Taylor, Mady, and Koi; daughter Brandalann, husband Kyle, and their chidren Hayden and Thatcher; son Josh, wife, Samantha, and their children Emmy, Laney, Dawson, and Kevlie; and his brother, Danny Burchfield.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Sinton, Texas, on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. The family invites all who knew and loved Gary to join in remembering and honoring his beautiful life.
