Gary Wayne Gohlke

Gary Wayne Gohlke, a dedicated farmer and rancher, was born on December 10, 1953, in Clifton, Texas. He passed away on May 10, 2025, in Waco, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of work and commitment to family. Gary was married to Patricia Westerfield on August 11, 1973. He embraced the values of rural life, cultivating not only his land but also the relationships that mattered most to him.

Throughout his life, Gary enjoyed checking his cows, “listening to the corn grow” during a good rain, and watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild play. He found pleasure in his childhood interests like baseball, football, fishing and hunting, which continued to shape his character and passions well into adulthood.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Westerfield) Gohlke, and their children: Burt Gohlke and daughter-in-law Ginny of Crawford, Cody Gohlke of Temple, Kelly (Gohlke) Patterson and son-in-law Kyle of Midland, and Vance Gohlke and daughter-in-law Taylor of San Angelo. He was also a proud grandfather to Colby Gohlke and wife Lindsey and only great-grandson Grayson, Cooper Gohlke, Taylor Gohlke all of Crawford, Cora Patterson and Sloan Patterson of Midland, and Harrison Gohlke of San Angelo. He is also survived by his brother James Gohlke and sister-in-law Sue of Crawford.

Gary was preceded in death by his son, Jake Gohlke in 1985, and his parents, Ira and Margaret Gohlke, in 2023.

The services celebrating Gary's life will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Crawford, Texas. Visitation is scheduled for May 15, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by the Funeral Service at 10:30 AM. The burial will follow at St. Paul Memorial Park.

His memory will be cherished by all who knew him, including his pallbearers, Colby Gohlke, Cooper Gohlke, Dale Westerfeld, Justin Taylor, Eric Stiba, and Alan Pitts. Gary’s spirit and love for family will always be remembered.
