George Theodore Damitz

George Theodore Damitz, a respected structural engineer and devoted family man, passed away on November 18, 2025, in Waco, Texas, at the age of 71. Born on December 3, 1953, in Aniwa, Wisconsin, George enjoyed a fulfilling life marked by his quiet strength, dedication to his work, and the warmth of his close-knit family.

George’s educational journey began in Wisconsin, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering, laying the foundation for a successful career as a structural engineer with CMC Alamo Steel. Known for his hard-working nature, George approached every project with diligence and a commitment to excellence, earning the respect of his colleagues throughout his professional life.

In search of a warmer climate, George made the significant move to Texas, leaving behind the snow-covered landscapes of Wisconsin. 

Outside of work, George cherished the simple pleasures of life. He had a great love for the outdoors, often finding solace in the peaceful activities of hunting and fishing whenever time permitted. These hobbies provided him with moments of reflection and joy. Additionally, George delighted in watching movies, a pastime that allowed him to explore various narratives and share experiences with loved ones.

George is survived by his beloved wife, Lou Anne, whose companionship was a guiding force in his life. Together, they raised three children: Leslie Glaviano and her husband Brandon, George Damitz, and Jennifer Damitz. He also leaves behind siblings Patricia Damitz, Marion Miedle, Jim Damitz, Joe Damitz, and Barbara Patton, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
