Georgia Peterson passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Providence Hospital, Waco, Texas. She was born on October 11, 1947, in Ironton, Ohio, to Gene and Carolyn Miller. Georgia has called Waco, Texas home for the last 34 years where she dedicated most of her life to family and friends. Georgia retired from the federal government which allowed her to live in many areas including Indiana, Virginia, Colorado, Germany, Greece and lastly Waco, Texas.
Georgia had many talents and passions, most notably as a lifetime member of the Embroiderer’s Guild of America (EGA), where she held many offices with the local Texas Star Chapter. She inspired many others through her dedication and leadership. She was also an active member of the Heart of Texas Water Garden & Pond Society.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents.
She leaves behind a loving family that includes her husband of 35 years, Harv; son, David; sister, Sarah; stepdaughter, Teri, stepson, Mark, granddaughter, Tara; grandsons, Matthew. Cody and Nick; great granddaughter, Kinsley.
Georgia’s legacy will be cherished by all who knew her. Her spirit, enthusiasm, undeniable love for family and friends have left a lasting imprint, and she will be deeply missed.
A Visitation will be Thursday, January 8th from 2:00-4:00pm at Grace Gardens Funeral Home. A private burial will occur at a later date at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
