No one knew a more hard working man. From his early years of painting and remodeling homes to owning and managing rental properties.
In 1977, Greg was given the name Greg, The Shutterman Swartz, after opening his plantation shutter business.
Greg definitely lived by Colossians 3:23- “And whatever you do, work heartily…” He was a perfectionist in everything his did.  He was known to always get it right, and if he didn’t he would do it again.

Greg had an exceptional aptitude for gardening. To be a successful gardener you have to a unique blend of patience, vision, creativity, wisdom, and kindness.
If you saw his garden today you would see beautiful a garden full Texas Star Hibiscus, Bleeding Hearts, Sago Plants.

He loved sacrificially, served others quietly,  gave generously and will be so deeply missed by his family and people that knew him.

He is survived by those he loved fiercely, his wife of 47 years, Donna Swartz, his son and spouse, Brett and Hannah Swartz and children, Bella, Rowan, Jane, Lela; his daughters and spouses, Sarah and Mike Finnell and children Luke, Noah, and Joel; and Anna and Adam Bonner and son Jeb, and Grandchildren and spouses Misti and Derek DeGraeve and children, and Wendy and Will Crain and children; and in laws Tammy Toups and son William; and Lesley Swartz.

So thankful for the last 47 years we have partnered together.  Thankful for your generosity. thoughtfulness,  consistency, you always get the things done you set out to do, you make things beautiful, plant trees, work hard to keep everything nice and working,  Everyone in your family looks to you for practical wisdom If something needs to be fixed, you figure it out.  I love that you always make me feel beautiful, desirable, and loved.  I love your smile and beautiful blue eyes and still think of you as my long tall Texan. Thank you that you never complained when I traveled and always welcomed me back. Thank you for your foresight and hard word that gave us a comfortable income in our old age.  You are a great provider- I’m thankful you love all these children in our lives, I’m thankful for your easy nature and patience with each one.  Thank you for being an encourager and supporter for all that I choose to be part of.  So thankful for our warm peaceful home--  Letter to Greg from Donna  from  Nov 2019
