Inetta Elmore

September 3, 1934 — October 16, 2025

McGregor, Texas

Listen to Obituary

Inetta Elmore, 91, of McGregor passed from this life into eternity to the loving arms of Jesus Christ early in the morning of October 16, 2025.

Inetta was born September 3, 1934 to C.E. "Buck" Lawson and Eunice Ivy Lawson in Covington, TX. They lived in Covington until 1942, then moving to Fort Worth where she went to school and graduated from R.L. Paschal High School. She met Jessy Elmore in Cleburne in 1954. In Jessy, her heart found her true love and they were married September 30, 1955.

Inetta and Jessy lived in Fort Worth until 1967, when they moved to Whitney. They lived in Whitney for 38 years, making a loving home and raising their two daughters there. Many wonderful family memories were made in Whitney, many of them involved activities on the lake; boating, fishing, camping, skiing, fire works, picnics and swimming. Inetta never learned to swim though and her reason was, "that her mother would never let her go in the water until she knew how to swim!" Later they moved to Cleburne, then to McGregor to be near family, but Inetta always called Whitney home.

Inetta did believe that Jesus Christ was her Lord and Savior. She gave her life to Jesus about the age of 14 and was baptized in Glen's Lake in Blum, TX. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blum, TX.

Inetta was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Kristi Baber; sons-in-law, Jimmy Morris and Tim Trammell.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, Jessy Elmore; daughters, Janice Morris and Susan Trammell; sister, Charlene Stewart (Larry); grandsons, Evan Trammell (Kristi), Seth Trammell (Amy), and Sam Baber; great-grandchildren, Kinsey, Ben, Grayson, Matthew, Davis and Harper; brother-in-law, Rickey Elmore (Jan) and many other family members.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff of BSW Hospice for the loving care they provided over the last two years. Thank you also to the staff and caregivers at Stoney Brook for their love and care over the last 4 months. To all of our family, church family, and dear friends who prayed for us during this trial, we love you and we thank you.
