James Lee Sparks

James Lee Sparks, 80  residing in Waco, Texas and formerly of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away on November 9, 2023. He was surrounded by his family.

He was born in Nome, Texas to Frank Marion Sparks and Lelia Mae Hoffpauir. He was raised in Beaumont and Highlands, Texas. He married Linda Joyce Lucas on June 14, 1968 in LaPorte, Texas. He was a cement mason in Local 681 in Houston until he moved to Nacogdoches and opened his own business, Sparks Concrete Construction Company. He retired in 2008 after being in business for 25 years.

He was a devoted husband, father, son-in-law,  and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, storytelling, shopping, and socializing. He enjoyed raising cattle and doted on his pets.

James is survived by his wife Linda Lucas Sparks; his children, Teresa Flynn (Michael), Floyd Dye Sparks (Paula), Sherronda Sparks (Jason), and Katrina Sparks. He was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

His memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 18th at 2 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3307 Center Road, Nacogdoches, Texas.
