Jeffrey Wayne Kelley, born on March 12, 1967, in Bakersfield, California, passed away on July 7, 2026, at his home in Waco, Texas, surrounded by loved ones. His passing marks the conclusion of a life marked by hard work, and quiet strength.
Throughout his life, Jeff epitomized reliability and perseverance. He built a dedicated career as an electrician for Union Pacific Railroad and also spent time welding for Bones Pipe and Steel. His work ethic was matched only by his steadfast presence—he was often described as a steady and constant support to those around him, providing not only strength but also guidance and knowledge. Jeff had a natural inclination for teaching, sharing what he knew through both word and deed.
Beyond his work, Jeff harbored a deep love for the outdoors. Adventure called to him, whether it was fishing by the water’s edge, hunting in the wilderness, or camping under open skies. These experiences he treasured, and he often sought the peaceful companionship of his beloved dogs, particularly his Rottweiler. Animals held a special place in his heart, and his gentle affection for them revealed the softer side to the strong, silent man known to his family.
Jeff is survived by those he cherished deeply: his children, Shawn and his wife Jessica, Shawnna, Cheyenne; 10 grandchildren; each of whom carries forward his legacy of resilience and care. He is also survived by his sister, Mary, and her husband,Jerry; his brother, Shane, and Shane’s wife, Betsy; his brother, Tom, and Tom’s wife, Carrie; as well as his father-in-law, Jack, bonus dfaughter, Mariah, and numerous extended family members. Their memories of Jeff are filled with gratitude for his enduring presence and the calm strength he brought to their lives.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jacquie; his parents, Grace and Carl; his mother-in-law, Dee; and other extended family members.
