Jimmie Clark

February 16, 1940 — May 9, 2024

Jimmie Earl Clark of Hewitt, Texas passed away on May 9, he went on to meet his Savior Jesus Christ. Jimmie was surrounded by his family in his final hours. He deeply loved his children and was always extremely proud of their accomplishments. He always encouraged his children to reach for their dreams.

Jimmie Clark, 84, was born in Marlin, TX and moved to Waco where he married Barbara and raised 4 children. Together they created the construction business, "Jimmie Clark Handcrafted Homes", which soon became highly successful in the Hewitt and Waco area.  A magnitude of his homes populated early subdivisions in Hewitt such as Heritage Heights, Gross-Yowell Addition, Rolling Hills, and many more. His belief was that anyone that wanted a new home should have one. He did his best to make that possible.

He was described as an icon to builders in the 70’s and 80’s as he also taught many the construction trade who are still builders today.

He gave many the courage to pursue their goals.

Jimmie had a competitive nature, and enjoyed many activities during his lifetime. He loved taking his kids to rodeos, raising cattle and sheep, training dogs, and hunting. He especially enjoyed listening to country music.

Jimmie is preceded in death by his mother Frances Mae Clark, father W.D. Clark, and sister Betty Overman. He is survived by his children, Carol Clark of Hewitt, Lisa (Doug) Dickerson, Mike Clark of Waco, and Richard Clark of Hewitt.  He had numerous grandchildren Mandi (Dakota) Hansen, Michael (Allaire) Clark, Dustin (Jessica) Dickerson, Zach (Kendall) Dickerson, Austin (Sarah) Clark, and Madison Clark, and multiple great-grandchildren.

Jimmie is so very loved and will be deeply missed by many.
