Jimmie Blanche Woodruff, a beloved educator and cherished member of her family, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026 in McGregor, Texas, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on August 5, 1929, in Roby, Texas, Jimmie lived a life full of joy, gratefulness, and happiness, always showing love and kindness to her friends and family.

Jimmie dedicated 33 years of her life to teaching, shaping the minds of countless students in Hobbs, New Mexico, Plains, Texas, and Seminole, Texas. Her commitment to education left a lasting impact on the communities she served, earning her the respect and admiration of both her colleagues and students.

She graduated from Plains High School in 1946 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Education from Hardin Simmons University in 1951. Throughout her life, Jimmie was known not only for her dedication to her profession but also for her energetic and spunky personality. She was a tough, determined, and God-fearing lady who served as the rock of her family.

In her personal life, Jimmie cherished her 28-year marriage to her beloved husband, Dupree Woodruff, who has preceded her in death. Jimmie’s family will remember her adventurous spirit as she traveled to all fifty states, creating cherished memories along the way.

She is survived by her two daughters, Cristy Richardson and her husband Gene, and Cathy Jacobs and her husband Greg. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Jill Melton and her husband Brandon, Tanner Jacobs and his wife Rachel, and Brock Jacobs and his wife Shannon. Jimmie’s great-grandchildren, Natalie Melton, Hayden Jacobs, Tate Melton, Myles Jacobs, Josie Jacobs, Evie Jacobs, Luke Melton, and Georgia Jacobs, were the light of her life. She is also survived by her dear friend and sister-in-law, LaVonne Coke.

Jimmie is also preceded in death by her siblings, Maggie Sydney Murphy, Henry Earl Coke, Lloyd Eugene Coke, Arlin Ray Coke, Clyde Callen Coke, Baby Geraldine, and Alma Christine "Crip" Henard.

A visitation will be held in her honor on February 13, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Central Christian Church, located at 4901 Lake Shore Drive, Waco, Texas. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life service that will begin at 11:00 AM. Jimmie's inurnment will take place on February 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM at M S Doss Community Chapel in Seminole, Texas.

Jimmie Blanche Woodruff will be remembered for her indomitable spirit, her dedication to her family, and the love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for their compassionate care during her final days.
