Joe P. Marshall, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 11:38 p.m. at Providence Hospital in Waco, Texas. He was 86 years old.
Joe was born on September 18, 1938, in Lamesa, Texas, to Tillman and Margaret Marshall. He grew up with strong values of hard work and dedication, graduating from Temple High School before attending college. On December 20, 1974, Joe married the love of his life, Linda Morales, in Waco, Texas, and together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and devotion.
For 38 years, Joe worked at Southwestern Bell (Now AT&T), where he retired after a long and distinguished career. Outside of work, he was passionate about his many hobbies, including all things related to firearms. He enjoyed competitive target shooting and won several awards on the local and national level. He loved hunting, fishing, and earned his black belt in karate. His adventurous spirit, combined with his steady strength, left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Tillman and Margaret Marshall; his son, Bobby Joe Marshall; and his sister, Kathy Meyer.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 51 years, Linda Marshall; his daughter, Christie Stephens, and husband, Darrell; his cherished grandchildren, Lauren Hyde, Sean Stephens, and Shane Stephens; and his great-grandchild, Blaine Fauver.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Home in Waco. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the life of a man deeply loved and greatly missed.
Joe will be remembered for his unwavering love for family, his sharp wit, his strength, and his many passions that brought joy and adventure to those around him.
