John Callin

John K. Callin, age 78, of Valley Mills, Texas, passed away on January 25, 2026.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rumiko Callin; his daughter, Cheryl; and his beloved grandchildren, Alexandria, McKinley, Arwen, and Giavanna. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Maisy, a role that brought him immense joy and pride. John was preceded in death by his son, Thomas. 

John was a welder and carpenter by trade, and also a highly skilled woodworker. He had an extraordinary ability to work with his hands and found purpose and pride in creating things that were both strong and beautiful. His talents were more than skills—they were expressions of his care, creativity, and strong work ethic.

Though he is no longer with us, John’s legacy lives on through his family, the memories shared, and the many ways he left his mark on the world. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
