Joy (Smith) Mingle

Joy Smith Mingle is Home! She passed into glory Wednesday, December 28, 2022, Waco, Texas.

Graveside Services will be 10:30 AM Friday, January 13, 2023, at the DFW National Cemetery.

Joy was born to John Virgil and Mary Alma Brown Smith in Franklin, Kentucky. She met her sweetheart, Hugh, at Harding College, Searcy, Arkansas. She and Hugh served the Lord in missions and higher education work in Germany, Austria, Michigan, Texas, and California. Her gift in discovering beauty in small (and grand) things was amazing. Her determination to serve others was part of her until her last day on earth. Faithful, strong, passionate describes our Joy.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 9 siblings, and dear husband, Hugh.

Survivors are Timothy & Karen Mingle, Beth & Dave Phillips, Bonnie & Roy Taliaferro, Jeffrey B. Mingle; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grand children; nieces & nephews, cousins, friends.
