Linda G Kelly

Linda Kelly, 86, of McGregor, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on August 13, 2026. She was born on April 2, 1940, in Waco, Texas.

Linda graduated from Midway High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from North Texas State University. She devoted her professional life to education, working as a teacher for approximately 20 years before retiring.

On November 10, 1963, Linda married James Kelly in McGregor, Texas. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of McGregor.

Linda enjoyed watching North Texas Mean Green Eagles football and took pleasure in the simple joys of life and time spent with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Velma Sanders, and her brother, David Sanders.

Linda is survived by her son, Deryl Kelly and his wife, Christine, of McGregor; grandchildren, Omar Lugo and Stacy of Forney, Rosa Lugo of Robinson, Michael Gonzales and Kayle of Luling, and Cassidy Kelly of Luling; and great-grandchildren, Gavin Villa of Forney, Elvira Rosa Lugo of Robinson, and Castulo Theodore Gonzales, Estrella Christine Gonzales, and Fortino David Gonzales, all of Luling, as well as her nephew, nieces, great niece, great nephews and friends.

Linda will be lovingly remembered for her dedication to her family, her years of service as an educator, and the many lives she touched throughout her life.

A service celebrating Linda’s life will be held at a later date.
