Lowell Breeding McKee

Lowell B. McKee, age 87, from Eddy, TX, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on March 29, 2024 after a long hard battle with cancer. 

Lowell was born on June 12, 1936, in Cego, TX, to Lawrence Powell and Alice Cleo (Breeding) McKee. After graduating Bruceville-Eddy H.S. and 4C College he married the love of his life, Lilly Loraine Holt on August 2, 1957. Together they raised two devoted daughters, Nita and Pamela. He worked for Cameron Mills, General Tire and Bruceville-Eddy ISD before fully retiring. 

Lowell enjoyed designing and crafting many things out of wood and enjoyed camping and BBQ cook-offs, where he made many friends. He also loved his community and was a member of the Bruceville-Eddy Volunteer Fire Department and served as Fire Marshall for many years. 

Lowell is survived by his wife, Loraine, of 66 years, daughters; Nita Lanier and husband Randy, and Pamela McKee and husband Ronnie Silcox. Grandchildren; David Lanier and wife Misty, Kayln Robicheaux and husband Josh, Aaron Lanier and wife Karla, and Colton Malcom and wife Samantha. Great-grandchildren; Chloe and husband Tanner, Avery, Laykn, Ryker, Abigail, Ethan, and Sean. Sister; Laurel Wright and husband James and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as many life-long friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lawrence McKee Jr. and great-granddaughter, Gabriella. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Gardens Funeral Home located at 8220 Woodway Drive, Waco, Tx, 76712 on  April 11, 2024 from 5pm until 7pm with a Time of Reflection held at 6pm. A private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bruceville-Eddy Volunteer Fire Department.
