Margaret Elizabeth Morgan, age 94, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026. Born on December 23, 1931, in Waco, Texas, Margaret spent her life rooted in the community she loved. She graduated from Waco High School in 1950 and devoted her life to caring for those around her.

Margaret’s greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her children and their families. She had a generous spirit and a servant’s heart, always making sure the people—and animals—around her had what they needed, even if it meant going without herself. Her kindness, selflessness, and unwavering love touched countless lives and will be remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Gil Lillard and wife Teresa of Woodway, Texas; and her daughter, Dusty McGilvray and husband Kent Jones of Waco, Texas.

She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Shelli Ferris, Andrew Ferris, Lindsay Welch and husband Bryant, Matt Miller and wife Melanie, Kris Braswell and wife Stephanie, Brady Lillard and wife Amanda, BJ McGilvray and wife Leanne, and Jennifer Lillard.

Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Makayla Ferris and husband Jason Conners, Eli Ferris, Mason Miller, Christian Lillard, Victoria Lillard, Maddie Miller, Michael McGilvray, Ryan McGilvray, and Jacob McGilvray; and her great-great-granddaughter, Margot Conners, with another great-great-grandchild on the way.

Margaret was preceded in death by her siblings, Ruth Jones, Robert Southwell, Edwin Southwell, Raleigh Southwell, and Billy Joe Southwell; and by her son in-law, Michael McGilvray.

Margaret’s life was a beautiful example of unconditional love, sacrifice, and devotion to family. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved and cared for throughout her remarkable life.

In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial contributions to the Humaine Society of Central Texas or an animal shelter of your chosing.
