Mariechen Siegmann Eller, 95, of Temple, TX, passed away on May 18, 2026 at home with family at her bedside.

A family memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm. on Saturday, June 6, at her home in Temple, TX with Pastor Robyn Ford of Bruceville-Eddy United Methodist Church officiating. Grace Gardens Funeral Home & Crematorium of Waco is in charge of cremation.

Marie was born in Doernberg, Germany to Karl Siegmann and Anna Hintsche Siegmann on March 27, 1931. She was one of eight children. She married Anton Eller on October 24, 1953 in Doernberg, Hessen, Germany. Although she never wanted to leave her beloved Doernberg, she moved to Heckershausen, Germany and began married life there. In November of 1959 she accompanied her husband and two daughters to the United States to fulfill his dream of owning his own land. She followed him to New Jersey, then Texas, where they had a son and eventually bought a farm in rural Temple. She never wanted to be a farmer’s wife, but she soon learned all that this life required of her. In 1984 Marie began working in Housekeeping at King’s Daughters Hospital and retired from there after 10 years of service. Her traveling life resumed and she went to live in Tennessee, North Dakota and back to Texas. She went to her rest back on a piece of the farm that was her home for more than 50 years.

Marie is survived by her daughter Heike (Burnell) Rosenquist of Eddy, TX, daughter Karin Wagoner (Mike Wilson) of Temple, TX, and son Peter (Charlee) Eller of Erin, TN; grandchildren Shannon Baumann, Brandy (Eric) Zatlo, Erich Baumann (Candace), Allen Wagoner, Heather Leagon, Wendy (James) Turner; and ten great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Lutheran World Relief.
