Martha June Bostick Parham

June 26, 1925 — January 2, 2024

Moody, Texas

Martha June Bostick Parham went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. She was living in Waco for several years after leaving the family farm. Services for Martha will be Saturday, January 6th, 2023, at 2 PM at First Baptist Church of Moody with a visitation the hour prior too. Pastor Ken Laney will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Moody Cemetery.

June was born on June 26, 1925, at the family farm in the Liberty Hill community between Moody and Eddy. She was the third child of V.T. (Pat) Bostick and Ida Bernice Porter Bostick.

June graduated from Bruceville-Eddy High School in 1942. After graduation she attended Durham Business School in Waco and shortly afterwards, she began her career as a secretary to the principal of Waco High School. She had several other jobs over the years while helping her husband, who she met in school. She and B.R. Parham, Jr. were married on June 15, 1946. They raised three children, Dorothy Nell, Martha Elaine, and Benjamin Roland III. While the children attended school, she worked primarily at First National Bank of McGregor. After the children left home, June went to McLennan Community College and got her real estate license and sold in the Temple area for eight years.

Although June enjoyed her working career her true love was her family. She and B.R. delighted in spending time with them, watching the grandchildren play, laugh and eat – she enjoyed cooking for everyone. After B.R.’s passing in 2001, June became a member of The Daughters of the Republic of Texas and Daughters of the American Revolution.

June was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Byron and Billy Pat and a sister, Bonnie Nell, and her beloved husband B.R.

She is survived by her three children, Dorothy and Kent Donaldson, Elaine and Garland Cook and Benji and Robbie Parham. She felt blessed to have six grandsons, seven great grandsons and two great greatgrandchildren.

June loved the Lord and her local church, First Baptist of Moody. She will be loved and forever missed by those who knew her. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist of Church of Moody.
