Martha Ginsburg

May 31, 1923 — January 10, 2023

Martha Ginsburg peacefully passed away on January 10, 2023, she was born on May
31,1923. She and her older sister, Mary Jane , were both born in Connersville, Indiana
to Claire and Martha Jobe. Like many other families during the depression, the Jobe
family often moved, depending on where Claire found work. After leaving Connersville
they lived in Orlando, Nashville, and ended up in Liberty, Indiana where the girls
graduated from high school.
Martha loved music from an early age, she and her sister sang in the church choir while
growing up. In high school she was part of the Masonettes trio, and sang at various
venues in the area with the Del Mason Orchestra .
After graduating high school, following the start of World War II, Martha went to work in
the administration office of Republic Aviation in Evansville, Indiana. While at Republic,
she met and married John Santry, an Air Force fighter pilot that was assigned there as a
test pilot. Martha and John had three children – Nancy, Linda, and Billy, and lived in
several different states and countries.
In 1976 Martha married Bob Patton and moved to Rome, Georgia. While in Rome she
was an active volunteer at the local hospital. After Bob passed away in 1986, Martha
moved back to Waco.
In 1995 Martha married Harold Ginsburg. They were enthusiastic travelers and were
active in the community. Martha and Harold especially enjoyed visits from their children
and grandchildren.
Martha is survived by her children, Nancy Holifield, Linda Duncan and her husband
Larry, and Billy Santry and his partner Regina, her niece Peggy Arrigo and her husband
Danny. She has six grandchildren Kelly, Adam, Jason, Jill, Jenny, and Jonathan, and
ten great children; Patton children – Doug and his late sister Linda and their children
and grandchildren; Ginsburg children - Stanley, Brian, Lorraine, Ann – and their children
and grandchildren. She was a devoted Mother, Gradma, Nana, and GiGi.
The family wants to especially thank Martha’s friends and fellow choir members at
Central Presbyterian Church and friends at the Lake Air Tower for their years of
friendship. In lieu of flowers the family invites you to make a donation to The American
Red Cross where Martha was an active volunteer for years, or your favorite charity.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday January 19 th at Central Presbyterian
Church in Woodway at 3pm. Family visitation will be at 2pm at the church immediately
preceding the memorial service.
