Martha Jo Bryen

Martha Jo Bryen, 99, passed away peacefully at her home on June 15, 2026. Martha was born on May 9, 1927 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She attended Chickasha High School.

Martha dedicated 32 years of service as a Civil Service employee at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. She was known for her strong work ethic and kindness throughout her career and retirement.

An active member of her community, Martha volunteered at the Getterman Wellness Center in Waco, Texas as well as at the VA in Oklahoma. She found great joy in helping others and giving back to her community whenever she could.

Golf was one of Martha’s greatest passions. She also cherished spending time with her family and friends, creating many treasured memories.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil M. Bryen; her brothers and sister; and grandson Chris Tompkins.

She is survived by her three daughters, Pam Taliaferro, Sandy Tompkins, and Sherri Peterson; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

The family extends a special thank you to Lucy Lupu for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Martha.

Graveside burial services will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 2:00p.m. at Fort Sill National Cemetery 2648 NE Jake Dunn Road, Elgin, Oklahoma 73538.

Martha will be remembered for her dedication to family, her service to community, and her dedication to her family.
