Mary Sue (Patterson) McCrary

Mary Sue (Patterson) McCrary, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 13, 2023. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, with Pastor Ken Riley officiating. Following the service Mary will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery next to the love of her life, Elbert, who preceded her in death in 2019. A time of visitation with family and friends will be 6-8 pm, Monday, February 19, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Mary was born October 3, 1936, in Waco, Texas to Cecil Visti (Richards) and Mather Muel Patterson. Mary grew up in Waco and attended Waco schools where she graduated from Waco High School in 1955. She married Elbert McCrary on May 17, 1956, and together they had 3 children, Kenneth, Carl, and Donna.

Mary enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and traveling. Her traveling adventures led her to 47 of the 50 states! Mary loved spreading the gospel and was a member of Hewitt Community Church.

Mary was a good and faithful woman, and although saddened with her death, we can rest knowing that she is with our Lord Jesus.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Mather, Husband, Elbert and brother, Billy Lee Patterson.

Mary leaves behind her 2 sons, Kenneth and wife Susan McCrary, Carl Lee and wife Linda McCrary; daughter, Donna McCrary and Grandson, Grayson McCrary.
