In Loving Memory of Mary Williams
Mary Williams, 75, passed away peacefully in Waco, Texas, on June 21, 2026.
Born on September 18, 1950, in Crosses, Arkansas, Mary carried the spirit of the Ozarks with her wherever she went. She was a proud Arkansas Razorbacks fan and never lost her love for the place she called home.
Mary retired after a career as a security guard. She was stubborn, spirited, and wonderfully feisty—a woman who wasn’t afraid to speak her mind, stand up for what she believed, or fiercely protect the people she loved. Beneath that strong exterior was a generous heart that found joy in the simple things: knitting, playing dominoes, spending time with friends, visiting with animals. She also held a deep pride in her Native American heritage, a part of her identity she treasured throughout her life.
Family was important to Mary. She shared a special bond with her brothers and sisters and cherished the memories they made together over the years. She was preceded in death by her siblings Ellis, Janice, Lawrence, and Alvin. She is survived by her beloved sister, Cathy.
Mary leaves behind her devoted daughter, Stephanie Brown; granddaughters Tiffany Tucker and Ashley Tucker; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Aiden, Araya, Jecht, Baughn, Lazuli, and Marceline. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Each brought immense joy to her life and will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
One of the greatest blessings of Mary’s final chapter was being reunited with her daughter in Texas. After a long journey to bring her closer to family, she was finally able to spend her remaining weeks surrounded by the love, comfort, and care of those that truly wanted the best for her. There was hope that she was growing stronger, and while her time with them was far shorter than anyone wished, those precious days became a gift that her family will forever cherish. Knowing that Mary spent her final days wrapped in the love of her family brings comfort amid the sorrow of saying goodbye.
Mary’s legacy is one of resilience, loyalty, laughter, and love. She leaves behind countless memories that will continue to bring smiles through tears and remind those who loved her that family is life’s greatest blessing.
A memorial service and celebration of Mary’s life will be held at Brannon Mountain Church and Cemetery. The date and time will be announced at a later date.
Mary will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Like the wolf she so admired, Mary’s spirit was strong, loyal, and free. Though she is no longer by our side, her love lives on in the family she cherished and in the countless lives she touched.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered.
