Maxine Nally

Maxine Nally, 86, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2012, at her sons home in Woodway, Texas. Per her wishes, there are no visitation or graveside services planned.

Maxine was born January 17, 1926 in Palatka, Ark. to Gardner and Savannah Campbell. She and family lived in Corning and Knobel Ark. After graduating from Knobel high School in 1944, she moved to Memphis Tenn. to work and attend business college. In Memphis she met and married Murray Kahn. They had two sons, Alan Kahn and Cornell Kahn, both living in Woodway, Texas.

She later moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, back to Memphis, Tenn. and eventually married W.R. Nally of Wyatt, Mo. in 1971. She later moved to Waco, Texas to live near her two sons until her death.

Maxine was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was a long time member and officer in the Rebekah lodge 443 of Charleston, Mo. A lifelong league bowler, she also loved dancing, many card and table games. music, playing the piano and attending musical programs at Baylor and surrounding churches. She also had a terrific sense of humor and was loved by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Murray Kahn in 1961 and W.R. Nally in 1995, as well as numerous family members.

Maxine is survived by her two sons, Cornell Kahn, Alan and wife Elizabeth Kahn, her sister, Erma Bateman of Paragould, Ark, Two step sons and a step daughter, several nieces and nephews, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

In honor of her memory she requested donations be made to the Providence Hospice network, which provided exceptional care, love and support to her and the family during her final days.
