Merle O'Delia (Cunningham) Jackson

Merle O’Delia Jackson, of Mart, passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 on her 97th birthday.  A graveside Service will be 2 pm, Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Byler Cemetery, West Point, Texas.  A visitation with the family will be 4 -6 pm, Friday, November 26, 2021 at Grace Gardens Funeral Home in Waco.

Merle was born in West Point, Texas at the family home to Katy (Janes) and Marion Cunningham. She was the youngest of six children growing up on the family farm.  Merle created a home for her four children, relocating them to the Waco area when she started working for Hillcrest Hospital.  She met the love of her life, Prentice Jackson, while working.  The couple shared 21 happy years together.

Merle loved working outside in the yard, she had beautiful flowers and gardens.  She was a member of Greater Waco Baptist Church.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joys.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and a granddaughter.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Rawlene McDaniel, Cliff Davis and wife Karren, Alton Davis and wife Shirley, Reba Robinette and husband Martin; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear church friends.
