Michael Andrew Dehnert, born on March 31, 1954, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home in Woodway, Texas, on September 2, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, remembered for his warmth, dedication, and zest for life.

Michael pursued his education in Aviation Maintenance at Texas State Technical College (TSTC), which laid the foundation for a distinguished career. He served his country with honor, retiring as an Air Traffic Controller from the U.S. Army. His time in the military not only defined his professional skills but also instilled in him a sense of duty and commitment to his community.

A member of the former Korean United Methodist Church, Michael found solace and fellowship in his faith. He carried the values of his beliefs into every aspect of his life, fostering connections and friendships that enriched the lives of those around him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kyong, and his cherished children, Michele Dehnert, Christine Kampa, Sandra Kampa, and Joshua Kampa. Michael also leaves behind his brother, Charlie Dehnert, and sister, Heidi Dehnert; and grandchildren, Grayson Gray, Josiah Dunlap, Nikko Kampa, and Noah Kampa.

Michael was known for his love of fishing, cooking delightful meals, and building intricate airplanes, and tank models. He also enjoyed being a handy man. These hobbies provided him with great satisfaction and were a testament to his creative spirit.

Michael will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his parents, father and step mother, Charles and Bea Dehnert, mother, Marie Dehnert Reekers; as well as sisters Christina Dehnert and Marie Reckers.

The family invites you to join them in celebrating Michael's life during a visitation on September 5, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a memorial service from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Grace Gardens Funeral Home & Crematorium located at 8220 Woodway Dr, Woodway, Texas, 76712. This service will provide an opportunity for family and friends to gather, share memories, and honor a life well-lived.
