Mike Munoz III, affectionately known by many as "Looney," "Bubba," "Mikie," and "Mikieface," passed away on April 28, 2025, in Waco, Texas. He was 42 years old.
Born on September 2, 1982, in Waco, Mike spent his life rooted in the community that shaped him. A talented machine operator by trade, Mike brought precision and passion to every project he touched. For the last 7 years he worked at Trane, where his dedication and craftsmanship earned the respect of colleagues and peers alike.
Mike’s love for technology extended far beyond his professional work. He co-founded Archon PCs, a venture that allowed him to channel his enthusiasm for building and modding computers into something tangible and impactful. Whether assembling high-performance machines or guiding others through the world of custom PCs, Mike approached each challenge with energy and expertise.
His interests were as vibrant as his personality. A devoted football fan and an avid enthusiast of anime, comic books, and gaming—both console and PC—Mike found joy in immersive stories and imaginative worlds. He had a particular fondness for Marvel and DC Comics, with Spider-Man holding a special place in his heart. He also enjoyed deck card games, often sharing laughter-filled moments with friends over a good game.
Faith played an important role in Mike’s journey. Though he had distanced himself from the church during earlier years, he later returned to regular attendance at St. Francis on the Brazos Catholic Church in Waco. His renewed commitment to confession and the traditions of the Roman Catholic faith marked a meaningful chapter of personal growth and spiritual reconnection.
Mike’s fun-loving spirit, adventurous nature, and contagious smile left lasting impressions on all who knew him. His presence lit up rooms and brought warmth to countless lives.
He is survived by his father, Mike Munoz Jr.; stepmother, Jodie Munoz; mother, Anselma Reyes; stepfather, Ivan Reyes; sister Belinda Munoz and husband, Gilbert Alvarado; sister, Melissa Munoz and husband, Michael Dennis; and sister, Christy Munoz; nieces Ariel Munoz, Kallei Alvarado, Marisol Munoz, Layla Dennis, and Ava Dennis; nephews Jaxen Alvarado and Nickolas Munoz; as well as his friends and business partners who shared in both his passions and dreams.
Mike was preceded in death by his grandfather Pete Moreno; grandmother Julia Moreno Garcia; Godfather/uncle Robert Moreno and cousins Pete Moreno and Richard Moreno Jr.
May Mike’s memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire all who were touched by his life.
